The football fans of our country are eagerly awaiting today’s UEFA Champions League Matchday 5 game between Napoli and Qarabağ.
It is pleasing that our beloved Qarabağ has once again become a constant topic on UEFA’s official website. Once more, positive words are being said about our team, with quotes from our head coach Gurban Gurbanov and some of our players highlighted.
Gurban Gurbanov on Napoli:
"This club has wonderful fans, and despite several coaching changes, their quality has never decreased. We are in a beautiful city, facing a team with a long history and an excellent coach. We know it will be a difficult match because it is important for their qualification stage, but we are ready."
"We know it sounds unusual, but our Champions League ambition remains the same: regardless of the result, we want to enjoy every moment. We believe in ourselves. We know that Napoli is eager to win, so we must stay focused and brave."
Marko Janković, Qarabağ midfielder:
"We know Napoli are the favorites — they are playing at home — but we are confident, and the league stage and tournament standings show that we have achieved great results. Napoli are an excellent team, but we will play our own game as always."
The thoughts of Napoli’s head coach Antonio Conte were also noted:
"Tomorrow is the anniversary of Diego Maradona’s death. We know what he means to Napoli, and dedicating a victory to him would be wonderful. Qarabağ drew with Chelsea. They play at a high tempo and have quality young players, so we will need a lot of energy from the very beginning."
According to QOL.az, Qarabağ’s head coach did not avoid the topic during yesterday’s press conference:
"I was aware of the anniversary, and I read Conte’s words. I know they want to dedicate the victory to him. That is extra motivation for them, but it is the same for us as well."
